SEC Staff Scholarships

$3,000 Scholarship Awards

WHO CAN APPLY:

Secretaries, paralegals, technical support staff, file clerks, and other administrative staff who have worked full time at the SEC for more than one year are eligible to apply for these scholarships. 

Awards must be used toward an accredited undergraduate degree-granting program to further the applicant's professional goals and a receipt or invoice must be presented to ASECA to release scholarship funds. Scholarship awards are intended for the school year during which the award is presented and may be used for school fees, class tuition, and required materials. Reimbursement of costs may be submitted through June 30th of the following years.

Applications to fund graduate or certificate programs will not be considered.

APPLICATION:

Applicants must submit the following:

  1. Current resume of the applicant's employment and education history;
  2. Proposal of up to 500-words stating in detail the applicant's educational and professional goals and how the scholarship award would be used to further those goals;
  3. One or more letters of recommendation from the applicant's supervisor(s) at the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Please include the following specific information:

  • Daytime phone number and e-mail
  • Home address
  • Current title and job description
  • School at which enrolled or planning to enroll
  • Courses taken or planning to take
  • When degree will be completed, if known
